Museum of AK - underground activity

The Regional Center for Education about Remembrance, informally known as the Museum of underground activity during the II World War, is located at Mościckiego Street 29, in the place of the former Memorial Chamber of the World Association of Home Army Soldiers.

The exhibition presents the history of Tarnów during World War II, especially the combat efforts of two "Tarnów's" regiments: the 16th Infantry Regiment and the 5th Mounted Rifle Regiment. It presents the participation of residents in the battles with the enemy, as well as everyday life under the German occupation. It presents the underground activity in a special way.

In an interesting way is presented the history of Operation III Most (Operation Wildhorn III), as a result of which fragments of the secret weapon - V2 rocket were delivered to the West. The museum also reminds of the important battle at Jamna, which was part of the Operation Tempest, and the first transport of prisoners to KL Auschwitz. At the exhibition, we will see elements of weapons from the war, uniforms, numerous documents and photos.

The museum is not large, but modern, multimedia, and it is certainly worth spending an hour to visit this place, learn about the history of both the daily tedious resistance
