The Tower in Czchów

The Tower in Czchow

The castle in Czchow is commonly called the Tower, and is located near the Main Square. The castle was built in the XIV century on a merchant trail from Hungary. Today, after a partial reconstruction of the castle, you can go up the old Tower, where a lookout spot is located with a panorama of Dunajec Valley and the old Town of Czchów. In a new annex is a till and a shop. There you can buy tickets and souvenirs, and see an exhibition of finds from the excavation point and a model of the probable original look of the castle.

The castle is available to visitors from the 1st of May till the 30th of September everyday. In May, June and September between 10 am and 5 pm, on Sundays until 6 pm. In July and August it’s opened between 10 am and 6 pm, on Sundays till 7 pm. In October on Saturdays and Sundays between 10 am and 4 pm.
