Stone City in Ciężkowice and the Spring Park

You can reach Ciężkowice by car in 40 min as it’s located only 35 km south from Tarnów. Scattered in a forest, on hills boulders are a popular tourist attraction. Each rock has its own name and a legend connected to it.

The Stone City is a group of beautifully shaped rock formations and is the origin of a saying: “City turned to stone”. “The Witch” is guarding the passage and looking at all travellers, and “the Mushroom” needs to be stepped on.

A waterfall there is worth seeing, however it’s dry during the dry season.

To the center of Ciężkowice you can go for ice cream and to the Natural Museum, of which an interactive form teaches about different animal and plant species living in Podgórze Karpackie region.

A new attraction of Ciężkowice is the Zdrojowy Park (the Spring Park). On the area of over 6 hectares, a sensory garden, a zone for children and a graduation tower were created. There are facilities for hydrotherapy, an alpinarium (a garden built of rocks and earth, with mountain vegetation systems), an arboretum and paddling pools with mineral bathrooms.
